We have a black dog who can be hard to find if she gets distracted while out on her evening ablutions. The collar can be switched on as she goes out and the flashing red band is then highly visible from quite a distance. It’s simple to turn on and off the only drawback being that it can disappear into her coat (which is not that long) making her invisible from certain angles for brief periods. The entire yellow area seen in the pictures flashes bright red when it’s in operation.
The product is fantastic as a supplemental collar but a design flaw makes it unsuitable as a dog’s only collar: there’s nowhere to attach ID and rabies tags because the D-ring needs to be upwards for the flashing part to be visible. We use it in addition to the dog’s regular collar.
This collar is a nobrainer when compared to losing a dog at bedtime.
